Mission Statement: We value community among our neighbors, historic preservation in our buildings, and social and economic diversity among current and future residents. Our goal is to create a neighborhood where owners take pride in their homes, the streets are safe and walkable, and people of all different backgrounds enjoy living, playing, and working.

SCPNA monthly meeting minutes

• Linda Proffitt discussed the “1 By Youth” event, scheduled for May 1st. 1,000 to 2,000 middle school and high school children will descend upon our neighborhood for a day of service. Thirty-seven projects have been identified throughout St. Clair Place and other nearby neighborhoods. If you have a project that you would like to be considered at your residence (for example, planting a garden, painting exterior trim or a fence, removing overgrown plants and weeds, etc.), you can contact Emerson at emerson@globalpeaceinitiatives.net, or call Linda at 222-1556. If you are interested in helping volunteer for the 1 By Youth event, please contact Linda or Emerson.

• Geneva Travis, Outreach Coordinator for I-AD, shared about the St. Clair Place Home Repair Project. If you are a homeowner living in St. Clair Place, are current on residential taxes, and your household is no more than 80% of the Annual Median Income, then you may qualify for free home repairs. Priority will be given to those homeowners who did not previously participate in the Rebuilding Together home repairs program. If you would like more information or would like to apply, please contact Geneva at 808-2310 or gtravis@enn.org.
• Reba Taylor-Hill (Health and Hospital) answered questions about Health and Hospital violations.
• Tonya Beeler (Mayor’s Liaison) said that our trash pick-up days may be changing in April or May. Stay tuned for more information (and keep your eyes on your mailbox, as you should be getting a postcard from Department of Public Works).

• Jean Casmir Hill (E. 10th St. UMC) reminded us about the bean supper being held to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the congregation. It’s on March 19th from 5-7:30 p.m.
• The neighborhood bylaws, with a slight revision, were approved.

• New neighborhood officers were elected:
           President: Josh Abel
           Vice-President: Sarah Dillinger
           Secretary: Emerson Willis
           Treasurer: Stephen Ball
• The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Our next SCPNA meeting is on April 12th at 6:30 p.m.
